Giveaway and Review of"Judgement Day" by Wanda Dyson

Congratulations to Anne
Winner of Judgement Day!

The weekly cable news show Judgment Day with Suzanne Kidwell promises to expose businessmen, religious leaders, and politicians for the lies they tell. Suzanne positions herself as a champion of ethics and morality with a backbone of steel-- until a revelation of her shoddy investigation tactics and creative fact embellishing puts her in hot water with her employers, calling her credibility into question and threatening her professional ambitions.

Bitter and angry, Suzanne returns home one day to find an entrepreneur she is investigating, John Edward Sterling, unconscious on her living room floor.before the night is over, sterling is dead, she has blood on our hands, and the police are arresting her for murder. She needs to help to prove her innocence, but her only hope, private investigator Marcus Crisp, is also her ex-fiancé -- the man she betrayed in college.

Marcus and his partner Alexandria Fisher-Hawthorne reluctantly agreed to take the case, but they won't cut Suzanne any slack. Exposing her lack of ethics in the lives she's destroyed in her fight for ratings does little to make them think Suzanne is innocent. But as Marcus digs into the mire of secrets surrounding her enemies, he unveils an alliance worth killing for. Now all he has to do is keep Suzanne and Alex alive long enough to prove it.

Wanda L. Dyson lives on a working horse farm in Maryland, boarding and keeping a menagerie of critters. She is the author of four acclaimed suspense novels, including Shepherd's Fall, and she is the co-author of Why I Jumped, the true story of Tina Zahn.

My Take: Short and sweet. If you love suspense you will love "Judgement Day." It is a page turner from the first page to the last page.

Treasures in the Woods

I hope you enjoy the pictures of these treasures I found on a trail in the North Georgia Mountains. The Lady Slippers are a rare wild flower that bloom only a short time in the Spring. I was thrilled to find these. Trillium (not sure if that is spelled correctly) is also a rare flower that grows in the wild - although it is not as rare as the Lady Slipper. This particular patch of Lady Slippers have been featured in Southern Living Magazine.

Giveaway and Review of "Mine is the Night" by Liz Curtis Higgs

AND THE WINNER IS!

JEANNIE

CONGRATULATIONS JEANNIE!

Stepping from a battered coach on a rainy April evening, newly widowed Elizabeth Kerr must begin again, without husband or title, property or fortune. She is not afraid of work and gifted with a needle, but how will she stitch together the tattered remnants of her life? And who will mend her heart, torn asunder by betrayal and deception?
Elizabeth has not come to Selkirk alone. Her mother-in-law, Marjorie Kerr, is a woman undone, having buried her husband, her sons, and any promise of grandchildren. Dependent upon a distant cousin with meager resources, Marjorie dreads the future almost as much and she regrets the past. Yet joy still comes knocking, and kindness is found in unexpected places.
Then a worthy hero steps far word, rekindling a spark of hope. Will he risk his reputation to defend two women labeled as traitors to the Crown? Or will a wealthy beauty, untainted by scandal, capture his affections?
The heartrending journey of the Kerr women comes to a glorious finish in Mine is the Night, a sparkling gem of redemption and restoration set in 18th century Scotland.

Liz Curtis Higgs is the author of 28 books and 3 million copies in print, including her armchair travel guide to Scotland.

My Take: I will make it short and sweet. If you love to read books written with the Scottish brogue then you will love "Mine is the Night" you ken? I found myself wanting to go around talking like the Scots of auld. This is a love story that makes you smile at the end! There is a dictionary of Scottish words in the back of the book to help out with some of the definitions.

How to sign up for the giveaway:
1. Be a follower or become one.
2. Leave a comment? Have you ever read a book that uses a Scottish brogue?
3. Leave your email address so I can get in contact with the winner
4. Contest ends April 20th, 2011.
