Back Cover:Roxi Gold is a throwaway, shuttled from one foster on to another for most of her life. She longs for a family and will do anything to fit in -- even if it's against the law. Soon she's traveling the country stealing rare books from unsuspecting bookstores, until a first edition of The Great Gatsby catches up with her.
Police officer Abby Dawson has seen the worst of society, and not just at work. The job she has loved has become a chore, the world isn't any safer, and there's no joy in her life. One fearful night a man's innocent blood changes both Roxi's and Abby's lives forever. One searches for justice; the other finds herself on the run. Will the power of forgiveness set them free, or will they both remain bound by guilt?

My take: I really enjoyed this book right from the start. I received this book during a time that was really busy for me so I couldn't just sit down and read it. However, I found myself coming back and picking it up every chance I got. I had to find out what was going on. It is not a suspense or a mystery, but I found myself turning the pages as if it were a suspense - just waiting to find out what was going to happen next. You will not be disappointed if you choose to read this book. I also want to go back and read the first book of the series - the story of one of the characters in this book.
